How do I prepare for the arrival of my kitten?

Getting a new kitten is a really exciting time, they are really great pets for most people but it’s important to be as prepared as possible for the arrival of your new furry friend.

You’ll need to make sure you have:

• A cat bed
• Kitten food
• Food and water bowls
• Litter trays and cat litter
• Plenty of cat toys
• Grooming accessories
• A secure transport carrier

You’ll also need to make sure you make any required home adjustments such as:

• Installing a cat flap
• Ensuring your house plants are non-toxic to cats
• Removing any toxic or hazardous items 
• Set up their food and sleep stations

If you have any other pets we’d also recommend being hypervigilant when introducing them and not leaving them alone for the first few days, until you are confident they’re getting along well.
