Halloween for Dogs & Cats: Costumes, Calming Treats & Toys

Halloween is good fun for some dogs and a long, loud week for others. There are the costumes and the knocking on the door, then the bangers going off in the estate for days either side of the 31st. It helps to know which kind of dog you have, and to plan for it.

That’s calming treats, collars and supplements for dogs and cats, lick mats and enrichment toys for a night indoors, and pumpkin and carob treats instead of Halloween sweets. If fireworks are a problem for your dog, start early. Natural calming supplements usually work best once they’ve had time to build up, so the week before is better than the night itself.
